          The following series of digitally manipulated photography incur towards the theme of evolution within the most dominating aspects of our modern lives; nature, family and the ever present existence of social media. Similar to the ongoing concept of portraying life and death, the evolution of the ideal of people has been shown to be heavily influenced by the pressures of social media and technological advancements of the past century has been added.

Artwork 13 Lord of the Flies Title: "Lord of the Flies" Year: 2018 Dimension: 60 x 80 cm Media: Acrylic on Canvas Inspired by William Golding 's 1954 novel of the same name, the overthinking figure is seen screaming whilst it is being swarmed by a group of flies.Within the novel , the literary symbol of the "Lord of the Flies" is a representation of human savagery and evil as the direct biblical translation of the title refers to Satan. The symbolic gesture of the flies denotes to the gradual (emotional and physical) decay of the figure as flies are attracted to rotting flesh. Artwork 8 The Fool Title: “The Fool” Date:   2017 Dimension: 200 x 100 cm Media: Acrylic on Wood Panel          The artwork represents my self-perception of my character within the time of its creation. It is deep with symbolism as the format and stylistic features are inspired by the tarot cards most known for its pseudo-scientific means of fortune telling. Fascinated within the world of mysticism, I had intended to exaggerate the imagery of a tarot card to my own telling of my psyche and perception of identity; how I am a fool following the pathway of the masses yet blinded by the confusion of my own desires.  Work in Progress

Artwork 12: What a Dunce !

Artwork 12 What a Dunce ! Title: "What a Dunce !" Year: 2018 Dimension: 60 x 80 cm Media: Acrylic and Glue on Canvas The painting is a self portrait conveying my self perception of my own being. The term 'dunce' is referred to individuals which possess the lack of the ability to learn and are slow-witted. The phrase commonly denotes to a negative connotation and was used as derogatory label for misbehaving children. In popular American culture, unruly school children were punished by being isolated from the class whilst wearing a paper hat with the term imprinted on it. The painting symbolizes my insecurity due to the portrayal of  myself to be the dunce, with the words of my inner thoughts materializing into shapeless creatures that constantly taunt me.
